Community

As a charity, The Co-Group is proud to be able to work with and donate funds to innovative and caring qualified Australian charities working at the front line to relieve poverty and enhance the lives of older Australians and people with disability who are in need.

Each year The Co-Group Board seeks out public benevolent institutions (PBI) who are working at the front line and who are suitable recipients for funds. The potential recipients are reviewed to determine alignment to TCG’s mission and goals. TCG works with the successful recipient on the design of their programs to ensure the parties are able to meet their goals which are to improve the lives of people with disability or who are aged and in distress.

Youngcare

Thousands of young Australians with high care disabilities are being left behind, living in institutions like aged care because there is nowhere else for them to go. Every week an average of 42 young people enter aged care; a quarter of these people are parents and more than a third, sadly, suffer from depression. This is no way for any young person to live.

Youngcare is tackling this national issue by building High Care Housing, providing vital grants and offering support and advice through their Youngcare Connect support line. Youngcare is creating a future where every young person has the freedom and choice to live the young lives we all deserve.

Royal Hospital for Women Foundation

Babies born prematurely, or as a result of difficult labour, may carry multiple disabilities. Genetic disorders realised at birth can also cause an extended stay in The Royal Hospital for Women’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). For the five to ten per cent of babies who leave the NICU with a disability, their parents are faced with a lifetime of care. While parents of acutely ill babies come to terms with their newborn’s condition, The Royal aims to offset some of their costs while the baby is assessed and given the best possible treatment in the NICU.
